Her tiny delicate feet work their way through the wood.
Brilliant shafts of sunlight reflect back shining auburn.

As though choreographed, each step plays out a drama,
a comedy,
a delightful parody.

A sudden stop!
Her brown eyes penetrate my soul.....

The moment makes my chest suddenly sink and
my heart quicken.

Then...without warning, her muscles tense,
her eyes become fixed;
And what seems the flash of a firefly...

The doe disappeared into the forest.
