It creeps into my body,
Rendering me useless,
Freezing my mind in a constant
State of weary fogginess.
My body unable to resist its
Gentle onset, it wraps its
Arms around me, in a warm
But stifling embrace of
Laziness and sloth.
I fight it, my mind still trying to
Function in the dark hours of the night,
Pushing itself to stay awake, but
Knowing the effort is futile,
For nothing is as overpowering
As exhaustion.
